A private Marina and Community
We are thrilled with our decision to purchase a home at Waterside Cove. After evaluating many single family home and condominium options at Norris Lake, the choice was easy. Waterside Cove offered easy lake access, picturesque views and welcoming neighbors. We have already started creating great memories and our family and friends are lining up to visit! Our thanks to Pam Haberer for showing us the options and helping us make a great purchase. We are looking forward to enjoying our Norris Lake home for years to come.
I looked at houses in this subdivision. At first I was impressed, other than the houses being too close together for the area, the prices were good and it appeared to be a promising area. I quickly changed my mind after I spoke with some of the residents. Problems with getting builders to make repairs that should be covered under warranty was a complaint from several residents. One told me he had been complaining for over two years and had just given up and decided to hire his own contractor to make repairs. There was no boat parking available so most residents were parking watercraft in driveways giving the area a trashy appearance. There was also construction trash all over the place in the vacant lots but I assume they will clean that when the builders get finished. The boat launch site (which is a long walk from the marina) didn't have a place to park your vehicle after launching or a dock to tie your boat on so you can move your towing vehicle. The marina had some type of animal feces all over it and the residents say they pay a fee but the HOA refuses to clean it or replace bad light bulbs. Quality of workmanship on these houses is of a low standard. Some of the driveways are starting to crumble and they are less than 3 years old. One of the residents allowed me to walk through his home and and I could hear the glass in his china cabinet tremble as I walked. I only weigh 150lbs and floors on a new house should not be that spongy. I also noticed stress cracks on his walls. There is no trash service. There was a dumpster but I was told it was for the builders only. There is no cable tv service and I was told internet is slow. One other thing I noticed there appears to be some one living in a mobile home at the top of the hill from the marina looking like the Griswold's on Christmas Vacation.
